Organic Vegan Chocolate Creme Eggs

Organic Vegan Chocolate Creme Eggs

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Setting Time: 20 minutes (10 minutes for the chocolate shell + 10 minutes after filling)

Total Time: 40 minutes

Servings: Makes approximately 6 crème eggs (depending on mold size)

 

Ingredients

For the Chocolate Shell:

  • 200g Cacao Butter

  • 1 tbsp Coconut Oil

  • 3 tbsp Maple Syrup

For the White Crème Filling:

  • 240g Sweetened Condensed Coconut Milk

  • 3 tbsp Icing Sugar

  • 1 tspn Vanilla Extract

  • Pinch of Sea Salt

  • ¼ tspn Planet Organic Turmeric

 

Instructions:

Step 1: Make the Chocolate Shell

  1. Fill a small saucepan with about 5cm of water and bring to a gentle boil. Reduce heat to a simmer.

  2. Place cacao butter and coconut oil in a heatproof bowl and set it over the saucepan (without touching the water). Allow it to melt completely.

  3. Remove from heat and transfer to a jug for easy pouring.

  4. Whisk in maple syrup and vanilla extract.

  5. Add cacao powder and whisk until smooth and glossy.

Step 2: Coat the Molds

  1. Place an egg mold (with 2.5" cavities) on a tray lined with parchment paper.

  2. Pour about 1 tbsp of melted chocolate into each mold cavity. Use a pastry brush to evenly coat the sides.

  3. Turn the mold upside-down over the parchment-lined tray to allow excess chocolate to drip off. Scrape the top with a palette knife for a smooth edge.

  4. Place in the freezer for 10 minutes to set.

Step 3: Make the Crème Fillings

  1. In a bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed coconut milk, powdered sugar, vanilla extract,and sea salt until smooth.

  2. In a small separate bowl, mix 4 tbsp of the white filling with turmeric to create the yellow "yolk."

Step 4: Fill the Chocolate Eggs

  1. Transfer both fillings to piping bags (or use a spoon).

  2. Pipe a layer of white crème into each chocolate mold.

  3. Pipe a small amount of the yellow turmeric "yolk" into the center.

  4. Top with more white crème, leaving space for the final chocolate layer.

Step 5: Seal & Set

  1. Spoon remaining melted chocolate over the filled molds to seal the eggs.

  2. Place back in the freezer for another 10 minutes until fully set.

  3. Once firm, gently remove the eggs from the molds.

Step 6: Optional Decoration

  • Drizzle with extra melted chocolate and sprinkle with flaky sea salt for an elegant finish!
